A writer, scholar, poet, and visual artist, Monique Callahan Damian has 5+ years experience teaching in K-12 schools and 12+ years teaching and in various leadership roles in higher education. A Harvard-trained scholar and writer, Monique has authored three books and publishes essays on poetry and culture as well as on creative writing in the classroom. You can find her visual art on her book covers as well as in literary journals and magazines.
Monique has received awards for her teaching and has facilitated workshops and instructional sessions on writing in the classroom, teaching and learning, and engaging student leadership in the college classroom. She has developed secondary and college-level curriculum. Over the years, she has worked with families to support high school and college students to provide tutoring and academic planning.
